And for the record, I've only had professional, helpful and nice exchanges with the accused.

Well that is my point exactly.

If we would have concentrated on the
facts, and just fixed this as professionals
then there would have been absolutely no
problem.

But, instead, we had:

First my measurements were suspected as wrong.
Then we had: "Nobody else ever complains about that"

Then we had an offer to fix...just send the whole
works back and I'll put an original hinge
block on, and I might have to drill it out.

Hmm...I thought..."drill it out" ???

NO. We are NOT going to drill anything out
because that might lead to another excessively
loose situation the same as the one we are trying to correct.

So, I asked to have the original hinge block
sent, which was agreed to.

Then that agreement went south.

Then emails were ignored, calls blocked...
dead silence.

Hey, ya know? I am done here trying to
explain myself to everyone.

I did what I did. All I ever wanted was
a hinge block that works right.

And...yes..it took me a long while to
notice the real problems. I had to disassemble
this reproducer to see it.

I guess that in this situation, that is just
a little too much to ask for something
which works really correctly.

Sure it plays and sounds nice, but it also
allows the stylus to wander around off of
the angle it is supposed to maintain.

Lord knows I have
been trying in every way that I can to provide
detailed measurements and descriptions.
All to no avail.

So hey, it is not a common situation.
But it is one instance of a situation where
detailed exact information was being provided
by me, I was being completely open and
suggesting every possible way that I could think of to fix this.

What blew the fuse was when I suggested
using a block with a slightly smaller hole
and then chasing it out to 1.15 millimeter
diameter using that size drill bit. (which is .0453 inch diameter).

That would produce a fit where the hole is
.0008 larger than the .0445 diameter pin.
(and that was certainly NOT the diameter
of the drill which would have been used when
the "drilling it out" was mentioned.)

That is about the time the dead silence came
right after the "I can't help you"...

[The .0008 inch oversize hole fit is
what blew the fuse I think]

And THIS came AFTER the agreement
had been made to ship out the original hinge
block.

I accept full responsibility for this entire
issue. All of it. Every last detail.
All of the drama. All of the misunderstanding.
All of the miscommunication, every last thing.
I own this whole bloody issue.
It is 100% because of me that it happened.

If people want to walk away mad, I can't help
that. At least I am not the guy walking away
mad. "Illegitimi Non-Carborundum"

Loosely translated that is: "Don't let them
wear you down"

There. Now are we done?
I am done.
