I am writing this to open a discussion about
something that is really bugging me.

There are, no doubt, many stories that others
can relate about times when things just do not
seem to make sense nor to add up.

I am in the middle of one of these times right
now.

One of the very well-known and well-respected
people who works on all things Edison recently
promised me one week ago to send a part.
This is to correct a bad part that he included
in a rebuild.

Since that time, he changed his mind after
giving me his word that he would send it to me.

Now he says he does not have it and for me
to go and get it. That is wrong in my mind.
If he does not have it, he should get it and
send it to me to honor what he said he would do.

How does this sound to everyone else?
I can just see this turning now, into, I am
the bad guy. An agreement is an agreement.

What happens when a well-trusted person
goes back on their word?

Hi Chuck,
I've had similer things happen to me on e-bay, someone said they had not recieved an item from me that cost £200 I know that they had recieved it but E-bay couldn't care less, I had to give them £200 back, I was fuming mad but what good did it do me. Gordon.

I am going to edit this post.

It is very unfortunate that I was forced to
use such an unorthodox method to get this
deal cranked up again.

But, I really had no other choice because
I had been told one time that the stuff was
going out shortly, followed a few days later
by "I can't help you".

So, as far as Phono-l is concerned, the past
several hours over there has been a real soap opera. I did what I did and right, wrong or indifferent, it produced a result. Any result is better than nothing at this point. It was an absolute last resort.

It's like a chemistry experiment that does nothing and so you dump everything in and stand back!!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

I have also read the Phono-l discussion. This sounds like it has been resolved - or is in the process of being resolved which is excellent. Of course, it's always best to try to work out issues privately if at all possible. I have personally never had anything but outstanding results from the work done by the person with whom you have had a recent issue. That said, however, we all know that issues and differences can and will occur and that it is perfectly normal with almost any type of service that is provided. I hope that this works out fine for both parties.

Oh yes, it is right now being fixed.
I assured that it would be.
I guaranteed this result.

Most people out there do not know the situation
that I had been put in to regarding this issue.

I therefore made up my mind to make absolutely
sure that it be solved.

Most people out there seriously question the
method that I had to use. They say that I jumped the gun. Heck if you want to use that analogy,
there was no gun, no race, nothing. It was
an empty field because nobody had even bothered
to advertise the race.

I had been asking about it for days.

So finally I politely nudged it along right
out in public. :mrgreen:

Obviously there is far more to this story! Which is none of our business!
If it is being resolved and you are sticking to your part of the deal why carry it on here!

Sounds like you are trying to make your own gun powder , I would imagine that you need to be careful as it might just blow up in your face! Or leave permanent damage!
