You probably need to take the motor out. Listen, if you're in LA, wait a month and when I'm down there for CAPS I'll come over and fix it.

Peter, Thanks for the offer, but I would hate to take up your time at CAPS with that. And I live about 90 miles away from the show. I'll be there though. I might try to have my friend, who is an expert on these things, work on it. Thanks, Marc.

Peter, I took my Beethoven to my phono tech. and he fixed everything. He even made me a special tool, so I can adjust the speed of my Edisonics without having to use those pesky slipping needle nose pliers! Definitely the wrong tool for the job. All he did to make the tool was take a junk piece of metal about 4" long and 5/16" wide and dremel the middle out at the end, leaving two small prongs that fit exactly into the notches in the speed control. So now I can adjust the speed anytime I want almost as easily as if it had a speed control dial! He took the entire mechanism out with motor and horn etc. He took off the main spring barrels and removed the springs, cleaned them, and regreased them. I cleaned out the inside of the cabinet while the works were out, and now it works superbly! Also he put an adapter on it and we played a lateral record which sounded great also! I'm very proud of my Beethoven, a superb performer!

Great news, Marc! Glad to hear that this sort of set-up can be arranged; you've blazed a path for others.
