The CLPGS three volume set of Pathé in Britain is still very much available but, for some reason which I don't understand, does not appear on the web site. Compiled by Mike Langridge and others, the three volumes cover all the Pathé records and cylinders issued in Britain as well as a history of Pathé in Britain.

For details of prices/postage etc., drop an e-mail to the CLPGS publications manager, Robert Girling on: [email protected]

Thank you Tim. I had just discovered that via the answer to an email inquiry to Robert and am in the process of ordering a complete set. There is currently a special for the set of 62 pounds, plus shipping.

Does the British 3-volume set cover mostly the machines, or mostly the recordings...or some combination. I think ideally we machine collectors would like to see something along the lines of Look For The Dog, a chronological illustrated listing of the various models with descriptive and technical details. Does this set fit that bill?

It looks like mostly recordings.

I can tell you more in a few weeks after I have them.

Well, certainly, but as far as I have been able to discover so far, that does not exist--at least not in English.

The three volume set is purely a listing of all the Pathé recordings, on all their various labels, that were available in Britain.

There is obviously a gap in the market for a book on Pathé machines and if anyone would care to write one, we in the CLPGS, would certainly consider publishing it on their behalf.
