I believe their original asking price was $400. This is a very low for this kind of rare machine. At least JLH got a response, I didn't get any. In regards to the offer that was "higher than asking price," I can't say I am surprised. The seller may not have had any idea of the value and when he got an offer for a higher price or a four digit price he must have gone "OH S#@%!" and realized he had been asking a very low price and decided to just go with the offer. Craigslist unfortunately isn't known for ethical sellers.

The original asking price was $ 450. The ad started off with the line: Here is an opportunity to own an extremely rare Victrola at a very affordable price. Then had what looked like a lift off of a website about the Victrola XII and concluded with: A rare find to have the cabinet included as well. So it looks like they had some idea of what they were selling when they posted the ad.

I didn't post anything about it until the listing was taken down. That's why I inquired as to what may have happened to it.
