The ozocerite cylinder on my K is a repro that I made for display.

There is a collection of recorded Bell & Tainter ozocerite cylinders that were electrically transferred about 12 years ago but the transcriptions have been held privately. I don't know if they may someday be publicly played.

I have an ozocerite cylinder with something recorded on it. Although I have a Bell-Tainter machine that could play it, the record was recorded with a stylus much smaller than the ball reproducing stylus found on a gutta percha reproducer. Maybe someday I'll be able to hear it transcribed through a modern playback system - even though the recording is probably only business dictation of no interest.

I wonder if those are the same ones I recorded about 12-15 years ago. I think they are still buried on a hard drive somewhere. If I remember they were mostly in French.

Rene,

A magnificent trio of rare and early Columbia machines.

I note that in Sep 2013, the AP showed an unusual ozocerite cylinder (6" x 1-5/16") which also has a (professional?) typewritten label around the rim; the grooving is the earlier style of 125 tpi, perhaps intended for the hand-driven Graphophone. It came in a rare cylinder container which fit it like a glove.

It would be great to know who the (instrumental?) artist [ J. A. Bernstine] is/was, but the title was "Patrol Comique." However, it has never been played.

Darn Rene - that looks great!

Is the ozocerite cylinder the same that was included with my Graphophone?

This picture reminds me of a pic I took about 10 years ago - no where near as cool as yours but similar. The N-variants.
