Beautiful Machine! I have the B and the BX and can say the BX plays better than the B, these little machines seem to have problems with skipping on cylinders so I do not regard them as a daily player. They are nice curiosities with the open works. I also find the same problem with some of the Q's. Some of the problems seem to be with the belts on these machines, but cant say that with certainty.

If I ever had to let one of my B's go it would definitely be the reqular B, the BX seems to be more rarer than the brush steel "B".

All in all a very nice example of the Nickel & Polished Eagle.

Just to clarify, the BX also is brushed steel. The BX is simply an B serially numbered higher than approx. 426950.

All consistent with the BX. The lid should have a smaller decal that lists the London office too.

You are correct, mine has the smaller decal and says London, and a faint worn off decal on the back that appears to be the Columbia Exhibition "Awards" decal.

My front decal is not very great, should I keep it since it is original or add a Gregg Cline decal?

The BX, while not rare, turns up far less frequently than the B. If it were mine, I'd keep it original unless it looks downright tatty. In that event, I'd replace the decal with the same type from Gregg. I'm pretty certain he has that smaller "London" size. Still, originality is something you get only once...
