I finally found some time to make a video of my 1898 Nickeled and Polished Columbia Eagle Type B Graphophone I mentioned in the Forum listing here: http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... =9&t=20531
that needed spring barrel screws.
I have yet to get this Eagle to play a cylinder to my satisfaction so this video does not include playing a cylinder but I thought some of you might enjoy seeing the video that I made this morning anyway.
These are wonderful machines to look at but a drawback to owning one is keeping everything lubricated while still trying to maintain the lovely shiny nickel! No matter how hard one tries to put just a teeny bit of oil on the gears it seems to always drip somewhere.
