Well the shop sent me an Email advising they are hoping to get $170 for this machine. They decided to let it sit for several more weeks and get back to me on my offer.
Responded due to the condition of this machine I must remain at $100.........I see this project machine slipping away

I made myself a promise years ago never to get emotionally attached to an item I was looking at buying. That philosophy has served me well. If $100 is your limit, walk away. I think you are being too generous already.

You know damn well that as soon as you cave and overspend on this that there will be another that is a far better buy. It's part of my theory of collecting relativity. The other part says that long desired elusive stuff always and only pops up when you really, really, really can't afford it!

I hear you my friend, your analysis is right on the money. Thought saving this Edison would be my last project before getting out of the hobby. Of course I said that 40+ machines ago.. Thanks for the input.. Cheers

I actually went over there today, because I live right outside of town, and it was a converter for lateral discs. Unfortunately, the arm for the converter was pot metal and was corroded and broken, thus likely unable to work. Definitely a cool and possibly rare converter!

I drove down there several weeks ago to look at this thing (1:45 from Warrenton). Yep that machine definitely had a hard life. Thanks and have a good weekend.....
