Nice phonograph. Congratulations! I’ve been trying to decide whether to buy this for my 2-55. Might be worth a https://www.ebay.com/itm/323953329448

A phonograph like this is for taking with you to the beach or the park. Try carrying a phonograph and a selection of records from a parking lot to where you plan to sit by a stream and play records. My 2-65 had an intact handle, but that lasted about a month and a half. The reason all those suitcase handles broke is because it's impractical to use a handle like that in normal use. It's a lot easier to put the records in a courier bag and sling the phonograph over your shoulder. This is a phonograph for using, not one to be put on a pedestal and dusted with a feather duster. I use mine all the time and I've taken it everywhere. It isn't as heavy as the VV-50, but it isn't light either. The sound of this phonograph in the open air is fantastic.

Would it also be permissible to bring it to a campground?

I plan on bringing this on picnics with my girlfriend, and to school, and wherever else cause it’s so easy to carry 8-)

Yeah it does sound great in open air as well. I played some tunes at the end of my driveway yesterday and people seemed to enjoy it ;)

A few years ago, I would go to a local Starbucks every Sunday afternoon and sit on the patio with my chihuahua and play 20s dance band records. It was a lot of fun.
