looks like someone out offered me on the cabinet. I am not sure I will be able to workout a deal with the seller.

Is it a coincidence that the better offer was made a few hours after I posted this on the forum? I don't know for sure if the offer was made by a forum member. But considering that it was on Facebook for 11 weeks and he gets two offers on the same day makes me think it was someone here. If it was, that's a dick move

In the future for something like this. To be posted in this section of the forum do I need to post the link? Or can I just post pictures and ask questions about it?

It's not always an agreeable practice but that's what some people will do.
If it's something you're interested then I'd suggest in the future to ask questions on the forum without giving the sellers link or contact information, at least until you've decided against a transaction yourself.

Just pay the $1,000 asking price, since that cabinet is worth more than that... $500 is the price for an unrestored half barrel, which is way more common.

Yep, I realized that I had the link on there and I went back and deleted it. I guess I wasn't fast enough.

It's sad but Bob is correct. We have a new enthusiastic collectors that asked a question.. It is unethical to make a purchase by stealing that lead plain and simple. It's the same unethical thing as making money on insider trading. If that happened here, shame on that person. I hope the other party is not a Forum member.

I would ordinarily agree with all of the above, except that this was posted to the "Ebay and Craigslist Alert" section. To me, that subforum is intended to alert other members to something that the OP does not intend to pursue for whatever reason. In this case, the OP was in fact interested in asking questions about an item he intended to pursue. Those questions should probably have been posted to the Machines section without a link.

Independent of where it was posted, he expressed interest in it, asked for the goodwill and help of our advice, only to be taken advantage of and to have his trust in us violated. That is of course, assuming it was snagged by a forum participant. We don't know that to be true.
