Even then, a styrene or stereo (45-45 degree groove) cut 45 rpm isn't going to last at all.

And an Orthophonic reproducer tracking at it's 160 grams :shock: or so of pressure isn't going to help matters.

This whole idea of playing vinyl microgroove records on acoustic machines is one best left at the door, IMO.

I wouldn't try it with any kind of stereo record. And, I'm not talking about tracking at the full weight of the reproducer. That's the purpose of the counterweight. I agree, this is an idea better discussed than actually attempted.
