FRAUD on Live Auctioneers

They operate from virtual offices and are now selling virtual antiques!

Because of reports by fellow Forum members about incidents of fraud, I have adopted a new practice for all on-line buying when I don't know the seller. I now ask for additional photographs of specific parts of an item. If they are unwilling to sent me the images I requested, I won't bid/buy.

Live Auctioneers sent me an email yesterday:

quote: "A violation has been filed against the auction house that listed this item without our consent and also, we have removed the listing entirely from LiveAuctioneers" unquote

I'm sure this was not the only scam item in Mclarence's "auction". It seems that they be free to defraud buyers on those items.

Beware of any "auction house" that will not accept credit card or PayPal payments. You have no recourse if things go south.

It would be interesting to know what buyers have done when they realized their items would never be delivered. Have any of them, for example, gotten his/her money back? I suspect no one wants to come forward and admit he's been had even if not his fault.
