I agree with Tink... if it were mine I'd use Kotton Klenser. You will be surprised how much crud will will come out of the finish. If you are not comfortable using 0000 steel wool, use pieces of a clean rag and toss them as they get dirty. Clean one panel at a time and you will be delighted with the results. Jerry Blais

Beautiful job with the cleanup! Did you end up using GoJo, or something else?
Just one thing to maybe consider...I believe the light bulb fixtures in these had a clip-on metal shade. These come up occasionally on Ebay, and would finish your project nicely. A small specialty round bulb would fit correctly.
Anyway, it's wonderful, and I wish it were mine! I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
