Glad to see your interest in Edison phonographs. They are very interesting as to there model development over there life time. They were produced approx. from 1898 to my estimate 1913 or when the factory burned down. They came out with models called 2 clip, four clip, model A,B,C,D,E,F, and the non seen model G. My collection runs from S/N2198 thru S/N 820130 a ICS Edison Standard which was one of the last group of phonographs made. My earliest ICS phonograph is S/N 46882. Those were phonographs made to teach people lessons in language . He sold a lot of these phonographs. Edison had a habit of using all of his old stock and refurbished machine parts on different cases that sometimes look a little different. Case in point I have a Early standard 4 clip plate S/N 39773 that was mounted in the new green case. There are some other oddities with it also but it is stored and hard to reach to list them. I think around 1901 Edison started to increase his manufacturing as his demand increased. He made them so well that a lot of them survive even though cylinder records were not in demand due to there sound range and limited time space on the cylinder. There are a lot of good books out there that have a load of information. I recommend "The Edison Cylinder Phonographs 1877-1929" by George Flow. That book is almost an encyclopedia of Edison information. I hope this helps you in your information search. Tom
