Well I can’t blame you. It wasn’t exciting enough to worry about. I did like the little corner drawers, presumably for needles, mounted at the front of the chassis, I’ve not seen that before. With the parquetry front this must have been quite an expensive machine when new.

Yes, I noticed that, all signs of in-built "quality" but I also liked the pull out front shelf for holding records whilst you're playing it. Edison Bell also produced its own motors so it would have been well equipped on that front too. How short-sighted of the sellers.

People wouldn't be fooled by your imitation of me as you haven't used the word 'interesting' - a rookie mistake ha ha :)

Having had a forensic look at the photographs I thought that the 'lid-stay' looked a little thin and not quite 'up to the job' (a bit like me never being picked for the school rugby team - not that I am bitter or anything ...) ........ although probably original ?
