I'd have no idea how to tell the difference between a glass and saphire tipped Pathé stylus either - and I imagine the rest of the needle, aside from the jewel tip, probably looks the same for both the old ones and the new reproductions?

for originals though, $30 seems like a really good price... I've seen them typically go for 50 or more on ebay. that one web site mentioned above, though, phonographs.org, has the repros for less than 50 each, which also seems pretty good and a lot lower than what I've seen in the past.

I have a quanity of NOS Pathé Stylus very reasonable price plus a large quanity of NOS glass diaphragm for about any size of reproducer. Also very reasonable in price. Contact me off line [email protected].
