The B-60 Diamond Disc phonograph consistently....CONSISTENTLY sells for $200-$400. The poor motor design is a headache to work on, and getting the drive belt to stay reliable is another issue. Add to this the absolute headache in shipping the heavy thing so the horn doesn't get bent........and you will see that the $1400-$1600 prices aren't an easy sale. Those sales are EARNED.

Case and point, any machine that you have to turn the crank 40 times to play ONE SIDE of a disc record, is ridiculous. In the interior decorating market, it is ABSOLUTELY worth its selling price.

Thanks for your input, MicaMonster! I like to see the experienced members chime in and give perspective to these goofy/unusual sales. It's very difficult for newbies like myself to get a realistic sense of value on the less common (for me) instruments, and especially when the prices are so out of line.

I'm quite sure that I can't be the only one with this dilemma. 8-)

Truer words have not been said. I can't think of anyone on the forum better placed to say these words, either. ;)
