The Stevens Trio "Chicago" was released on Diamond Disc 51120; I do know that off the top of my head as I've got all the Stevens stuff.Victrolacollector wrote: Very true...I think there a few that I can think of off hand that were not released on disc....Come Josephine in my Flying Machine and "Chicago" by Stevens.
There were some Blue Amberols released in the 1915-1919 period that were not released on Diamond Discs; I have around eight of them. I read somewhere (I think in the book about Blue Amberols of the 1915-1929 period) that the Edison people were able to tighten up production methods by 1920 and after that no cylinders were released that were not dubbed from masters of released Diamond Discs (except in a few cases where they used pre-1915 direct cylinder masters).
But I believe those 1915-1919 cylinders released on cylinder only cannot be considered "direct recordings" as they were dubbed from disc masters that were never released as Diamond Discs. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
