Kirkwood wrote:Okay, so it's not factory original, but that one empty Credenza cabinet could---in the right hands---be adapted to be a record cabinet to match an existing intact Credenza. Picture putting the Credenza on one side of the fireplace in the living room, with the "matching" record cabinet on the other side (if you had the space, that is). The left side/right side could hold two shelves of 12 inch albums, the center section could be adapted to hold 3 shelves of 10 inch albums. The playing compartment could be divided to hold more records, needle boxes, literature. All of this predicated on (a) having the floor space for one more cabinet and (b) having the time, tools and materials to make a workman-like job of it. I'm thinking back to a certain Sonora Supreme along with its companion record cabinet I've seen discussed somewhere recently......

Some 90 years hence, your grandchildren could sell them as that "rare combination of the Orthophonic Victrola with matching record cabinet".......

LOL, Kirkwood... I like the idea! :D You def need a big room.

Here's an original cocktail cabinet/radiogram, made in Australia by Electrolux.

]Here's one that's been on craigslist for a while:

Would it be worth that much even if it was complete?

Probably somewhere around that price. Looks like a late XVI.

But perhaps it's a really nice piece of marble?

thanks for posting the screen shots dean...

again, with threads like this where we're - I think - trying to save the photos for compilation purposes, so it makes no sense posting only a link to a craigslist ad that will just expire if not be removed sooner. is it really that hard to post the actually photos, uploaded directly to the site?
