I asked him how much he wanted for the machine, but he said that it wasn't for sale, and that a fella in Texas offered him $500.00 for it, but he wouldn't sell. I just thought, "man, you should've taken the money and then run as far and fast as possible".
Some offers are just too good to turn down, so I'm surprised he turned down that $500 offer.

The man at the flea market gave me the impression that he thought his beat up little portable was way too precious and exceptional to let go for a mere $500.00.

Springs shot, lid is loose, has been refinished, missing and escution...but...
"THIS WOULD MAKE A VERY GOOD PIECE FOR A COLLECTOR OF THIS TYPE. AND WOULD HOLD A SUBSTANCIAL VALUE."
here's the kicker:
"TOMOROW I GO UP ON THE STARTING BID, TO $750.00, AFTERALL IT IS WORTH $2500.00,"
uh huh....really?
And why does this almost read like the rich old man crapaphone listings from days gone by?
How the mighty have fallen:

I don't see any claims of being worth $2500 any more....just an opening bid of $49.

And after someone inquired for shipping (it's just $380 to Texas) the stock price jumped again to $99.99, what a deal...

And down to $11.99.

So much for his claims of it being worth $2500. I almost feel bad for the guy. Thought he had a fortune for the asking, and now it's down to the price of a ticket to the movies.
Well, I'd feel bad if it wasn't for the fact he was trying to blow smoke up everyone butt with the $2500 claim. Gotta wonder how people come up with B.S. like that.

eBay "insertion fee" tops out at four dollars so the clown has little incentive to be realistic. If insertion fee when on up in a sliding scale these clowns might stop wasting our time. Now, everyone loses. The clown wastes his time and a few dollars on his joke listing, we waste our time perusing this trash, and eBay loses the sale and final value fee.
