Well, I suppose if somebody chooses to report me for harassment, that is certainly within their rights to do so. That being said, it is difficult to substantiate harrasment if the emailed facts are true.estott wrote:You've got to be careful emailing dealers with criticism- some of them are quick to report you to Ebay for harassment.
I paid well over $200 for my mahogany one some years back- wouldn't make the mistake now but considering the pleasure I've gotten from it I consider it a good buy.
However, it has been my experience that most sellers are reluctant to continue to knowingly misrepresent the rarity or market value of an item (whether it was intentional or not) if it means that a buyer can contest the purchase by filing a dispute with Ebay. If the buyer files a successful dispute the seller loses the value of the sale, the shipping costs, and Ebay listing and final value fees (oh yes, and usually a strike on their feedback).
As an occasional seller myself on Ebay, I have always been receptive to emails setting me straight if some of my information in the listing is incorrect, (although I generally steer away from absolutes in my listings unless I can substantiate my claims or an item's provenance).
JMO, and my two cents, for what it's worth...
