Ok thanks Andreas. I will see if George V has the right ones.
Can I ask what you think about the Mignon in this previous thread:
http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... lit=mignon
It seems a little different than mine. It has the decorative pulls I was referring too, but also the turntable is larger, the motorboard is flush, and there is an additional control perhaps a brake lever?
The Mignon in the other thread seems to be a bit newer, the reproducer looks like it may be the usual Type 6 Grafonola reproducer. But you are right, the decorative pulls look original as well. And if you look at the Circassian Walnut model in the same thread, it has even different decorative pulls on the upper doors, but a simple know that looks like those on your machine on the lower door. Maybe these knobs are correct after all? I'd maybe hold off on replacing them. Problem with Columbias is that there are so many different variations, but that's also what makes them interesting. Three of my four Columbias are either variations from those listed in Baumbach's book or are not listed at all.
I agree that the other machine probably has a brake or start/stop lever integrated into the speed control, that's also why I think it may be a newer model than yours.

Thanks for your insight Andreas! The knobs look like Victor style but they have an unusual bronze color
unlike standard gold plate. Not a big deal I guess either way. They look fine to me. I restored the
reproducer yesterday but it needs a rear flange still. I have one on order.

I've been away from the forum for a few days. I liked the video and your pictures of the Mignon. I have the same speed control on mine like yours. My turntable is 10" instead of 12 inches. Is your turn table 10" like mine? I also have a 4 spring motor. Does yours? My key is a simple sewing machine key, unlike yours. You're lucky to have an original key. Best of luck with your "new" machine.

I can't really see very well on your pictures or the video, what kind of "rear flange" are you talking about? Is it a rubber gasket like the broken one in this picture?
If yes, who sells replacements for those? I have a couple of reproducers in need for a replacement.
Thanks
Andreas

Hi Harvey,
Thanks - glad you liked the pics and video. I do have the smaller 10 inch turntable and the 4 spring motor as well. Actually I don't have any keys for the cabinet but it takes the tubular type which I gather are tough to find. George V is not sure what type of knobs it should have either so I will just make due with the metal ones for now.

Yes Andreas, its the black rubber one in your picture although mine has turned gray with age apparently. George V. doesn't have any I found out and seems like nobody does. If anyone knows how to get some please let us know. Thanks!

Got a tip from a friend to use "RTV Instant gasket" on the reproducer flange. Worked
like a charm and the sound quality and volume is much better now. I also did my best
to replicate the gold accent trim around the horn. All that's left is a motor overhaul.

the beads around the horn opening are a little strange, but the rest looks really good. that's a nice find, I'm glad you were able to pick it up.

Thanks, I've got to try that.

Thanks Brian, I agree that the trim is not completely accurate but it is lightly glued and can be
easily removed without damaging the cabinet. I was trying to match the original according
to the only picture of the original trim I could find on Lynn's website (below).
