Speaking of good '50s LP reissues of 78s, all the RCA "X" series of 10" LPs are great, especially considering what travesties were inflicted on the poor things with such as their Camden issues.
One of my favorites:
Billie Holiday's only recording with Artie Shaw

Hmmm, sounds like a better bet than Victor's Bunny Berigan Memorial Album set which features 8 songs on 4 78's that are poor dubbings. Including I Can't Get Started dubbed from it's original 12" inch form down to 10 ".Viva-Tonal wrote:One superb LP from the early 1950s is BUNNY BERIGAN PLAYS AGAIN (RCA Victor LPT 1003). Eight songs on a 12" LP including the famous version of 'I can't get started'. If you were ever looking for this on an LP that has all the sonic attributes of the original 78 with none of the drawbacks, your search ends here. NO screwball EQ, overcompression/limiting, OTT reverb or other sins. And all eight tracks sound that good!
