This was my first auction of this size, so I was a bit overwhelmed and probably overspent one some items and missed others. The largely incorrect auction catalog did not help either, but it was an amazing experience.
My wife took notes, so with the "vague" catalog here are a few prices without garantie:
several GEMs with horn $475-500, red GEM $875
serveral HOMEs with horns around $450-675, with cygnet horns around $850
several STANDARDs with horns around $450, with cynget horn around $750
Victor Type E $1000 and $1200
Vic III with brass bell horn $1100
Vic IV with morning glory $1600
Pathé Actuelle with nice paper cone $600
Brunswick Seville $300
Sonora Mae West $700
several VV-IV and VV-VI and VV-IX $150-250
VV-50 $200
several common Victrola uprights and consoles around $90-200
Edison Radio Phonograph R1 $1800
VV-XVIII $2500
Lots of Nippers, from 1'-5' high brought hundreds $$ each with the larger ones all over $500.
Several lighted Victor and RCA Victor signs also $500 and up.
Needle tins and accessories went for pretty good money I think.
I brought home an L-door VV-XVI with complete album set, an Edison DD A-80, a VV 4-3 and a Victor R incomplete fixer.

I'll try and post some later today, but for now the Schoolhouse went for $6000 and the Opera brought 5400. I tried to write down prices as he went but many of his descriptions were vague.

Wow, $6000 for a Schoolhouse Victor XXV, that seems high for an auction price. How much did the Victor V and VI outside horn machines sell for? Thanks.

I wanted to go but had the feeling there would be no major deals since it was such a specialized auction. Still would have liked to see such a large collection but I do feel better knowing my hunch was right.

6K for a victor School House model seems really high. There was a nice one at the last Union Show with an asking price of $4500!!

I'm still scratching my head about the schoolhouse. I might sell mine if I thought I could get that much for it. It looked like every other one I've ever seen complete with the upside-down horn decal. There was one at Wayne for 3750 in 2011. The Opera surprised me too. It looked OK but the cylinder did not advance when played. Maybe I just don't know how to run one and didn't want to goof around with a machine I didn't own. Most of the other machines seemed reasonable. There were no real steals (unless you wanted to pick up a common machine).
