The description mentions "Collection assembled by George and Helen Myers". Just wondering if these folks are big-time collectors known throughout the mechanical music community?

Just a reminder that this auction is two weeks away, on Aug 18th. They have a more complete listing of 140 phonographs and parts now.

By my way of thinking, that is most worthy of a roadtrip... Heck, I'm in Wisconsin and thinking about how I could justify making the trip in conjunction with visiting my niece at Dover, (and then figuring out how to get any newfound treasures home on the train!)m0xiemama wrote:Wow, I'm in PA but SW I wish I lived just a little closer or I would be there definitely.
Sounds like an opportunity not to be missed... especially if you are relatively close by. JMO, of course.

No you are right under ordinary circumstances but I work til 7am and have a 9mo old who wouldnt hold up well on a 4hr drive. I've only been collecting a few months so there will be other chances.
