The description mentions "Collection assembled by George and Helen Myers". Just wondering if these folks are big-time collectors known throughout the mechanical music community?

Just a reminder that this auction is two weeks away, on Aug 18th. They have a more complete listing of 140 phonographs and parts now.

By my way of thinking, that is most worthy of a roadtrip... Heck, I'm in Wisconsin and thinking about how I could justify making the trip in conjunction with visiting my niece at Dover, (and then figuring out how to get any newfound treasures home on the train!)

Sounds like an opportunity not to be missed... especially if you are relatively close by. JMO, of course. :rose:

No you are right under ordinary circumstances but I work til 7am and have a 9mo old who wouldnt hold up well on a 4hr drive. I've only been collecting a few months so there will be other chances.
