These videos and photos are nothing short of "AMAZING"! Is there a website associated with this museum? I need to visit it and then plan my trip. Thank you very much for posting this.

The place isn't really a museum; it's Jasper's house (the largest private residence in Illinois!). As such, there aren't regular hours when it's open. The Sanfilippos often make it available for charities and other philanthropical endeavors, but it's not really a "stop in the next time you're in Chicago" kind of venue. The best time to see it is the Saturday night of the Union show weekend, when Jasper opens it for all the phonograph collectors. I've been trying to talk my wife into flying out to the show just to see Jasper's place. So far, no luck.

Well George instead of asking her to fly out with you, tell your bride you will drive her out to the Union show. She may take you up on your offer.

Flying out with me was never an option - - I always drive out with one or more other guys. But one of those guys is Fabrizio, so she's not likely to subject herself to that!
My pitch has been to fly her out on Saturday (school's still in session, so all she has is the weekend), I'll pick her up, we'll go to Jasper's that evening, then I'll put her on a plane back home the next morning. Queen for a day. But so far, she's not biting...

May I be your wife's stand in proxy?

I can see the bumper stickers now: 'I'm An Antique Phonograph Collector . . . Honk If You're Horny!'

I'm guessing either when your wife starts biting, or you start ridding yourself of some of those oh-so-desirable phonographs/gramophones!
I'll bet it isn't just the women asking you that, either!

I recently attended MBSI's annual meeting in Chicago and one of the treats of the event was about half a day spent at Sanfilippo's
Place de la Musique, finishing up with dinner inside the huge Carousel House. It was a situation where my jaw dropped rounding almost every corner. It is beyond fabulous and heaven for phonograph collectors. There are literally hundreds of them--all in superb condition--everything you have probably ever seen or read about and much more. Just as a small example, I saw dozens of Victor VIs in different areas! It went up from there.
I have just put up a slid show about the Chicago meeting on the website for MBSI's Southeast Chapter. Here is a link to it.
http://mbsise.org/Inside%20Pages/2013_A ... eting.html After a few slides showing members (the last one is moi standing by a Mills Violano), there are a number of slides from the Sanfilippo Estate--and this is just a drop in the bucket for what is there.
The presentation actually lives on Microsoft's SkyDrive and the Power Point Web App there can be a bit balky sometimes. So if you click the last icon on the right on the red bar that runs underneath the presentation to see a bigger version and it fails to load, try again.

Unfortunately, the big version doesn't open on my iMac v. 10.6.8.

As I mentioned, SkyDrive can be balky. Ah, the joys of "cloud computing." It is not Apple phobic, though, as it works on my iPad.
If the big version does not load it will often kick over to a screen that shows the "Sweet Home Chicago 2013" file name in a box. If so double click that and it will usually then load.

I was able to load the slide show in Internet Explorer but not Firefox. Probably a browser plugin.
Thanks for sharing Clay! What an amazing dinner setting. I didn't make it this year but am planning to visit the Estate at Union next year. Hope you enjoyed your visit!
