Figuring value is simple. Ask about 20% more than you paid for it, including cost of pickup and so forth. Unless of course you are a flipper looking to eke the most possible profit from a bunch of good-natured hobbyists.

For whatever it's worth...On page 90 of the Fabrizio/Paul book "Gagets,Gizmo's & Gimmicks", they give the Victrola outfit a value code of "F",meaning $50-$100.

Have looked at the cabinet bottom for the license label and date ?
Am curious to know the year... I have an oak XI with "fat" taper-tube, #2 sound-box, "speedometer" speed indicator, and first-style auto-brake, nice, but not nearly so mint as this example.
Please consider keeping this entire outfit together. It is an entire time capsule.
It seems the only thing missing is the original shipping-crate.

So if I paid $300 I should sell it for $360? How do I now decide who to sell it to? Do you think I should I add a little more for the 12 hours I put into cleaning/lubricating it and polishing the hardware?

Are you trying to be serious??. If so. List it on Ebay at $9.99. At least that will tell you what collectors are willing to pay. If you want to list on our Yankee Trader.....put a price "you" think "you" can live with and see how it goes. You can always except offers (if you get any) and go from there. Not real rocket science involved.
You will also find that this forum is not an appraisal site and most members will not comment on value. The reason.....it's "worth" is not set in stone to any one member.

I found a very nice younger couple interested in buying their first Victrola. I had 8 nice machines to show them and they chose this one including the 'Victrola Outfit'. Glad to keep everything together.

The box looks like it hadn't been touched since new. It contained additional sealed packets of needles, original instruction manual, soundbox inspection cert., original key, another needle box, and 2 envelopes which contained a records index and 'How to Get the Most Out of Your Victrola' - most everything in as new condition.
What a fantastic find... All that... and a Stickley mission sideboard too ! :dance:

Man oh man, I really wish I had seen this when you listed it and lived closer. This is EXACTLY what I am looking for, especially with all of the extras and provenance!
