Thanks again for the helpful info! (And sorry it’s taken me a week to get back to you here)

Sounds like I have nothing too much to worry about then. I don’t think the mainspring is too much weaker than it is meant to be, as I always run it out before packing the gramophone away (well, I do leave one or two winds on since I once read that it helps keep the spring seated in transit. No idea if that’s true). It also can happily play any of my other acoustic 10-inch records all the way through without any trouble. A 12-inch (which I don’t think it was designed to play anyway. The tonearm can’t stow because the record gets in the way) needs winding about three-quarters of the way through. The motor feels strong though.

Sounds like I’ll just have to relegate my one worn record to the HMV 102.
