You are right Larry. I forgot which model we were working with. If he keeps turning the shaft, it should move enough to get it out. Last thing, put it in the freezer over night and see if that will shrink the pot metal a little. It has worked for me many times on stuck reproducers? After looking at the picture again, it looks like the pulleys should come off. Slide them up on the shaft and wiggle them around. They are hard to remove when everything is out of the way sometimes.Phonolair wrote:The mandrel shaft needs to be pulled out first, before the rest of it can come apart.Amberola wrote:First off, you have to pull the Dog out. Then you can remove the pulleys or at least see the end of the shaft. I would remove the dog, then try the brass punch and knock it out? The Dog is marked in red. You can just grab it with some pliers and pull it out.
This center bearing gear (you point out)will not pull out. It is not like the end support bearing on a model A or B.
It is a support with a gear and pivot / bearing on the end. The mandrel shaft must be pulled out a couple of inches before the belt pulley and clutch can be removed.
Then the support, gear, pivot(one piece) is pushed in, to be removed.
After removing all set and regular screws, the next step is to get the mandrel shaft out.
