True. But I don't make mine because I am stupid, or intellectually lazy. Let the Inquisition continue.

So what's your excuse then John lol.
Please dont take this the wrong way...God knows I've made my far share of enemies on these boards already, but I dont really see the point of a thread aimed at belittling people, with links that disappear into cyberspace within a few weeks.
As a forum, we're here for people to come and learn, ask questions & do research, and not to make them feel stupid, or intellectually lazy.
I dont know...I just feel threads such as these might be a bit off-putting to newbie collectors/members, and might discourage them from starting new threads or participating in others because they might feel inadequate.
Just my (unwanted) 2 cents worth- even less with the exchange rate

Re: 'Worst Phonograph Description On Craigslist' contest
I appreciate your opinion and it has merit as do all opinions. But I like to examine how peoples' minds work when confronted with objects that they are not familiar with. Sort of a sociological/psychological observational experiment sometimes (but not always -- sometimes the listings speak for themselves so much that I am left speechless) totally corrupted by my prejudiced opinions and expectations. It just ties in with a lot of my other observations about the human race that are off-topic in their natural state in this forum, but certainly applicable in the context of antique phonographs being listed on Craigslist. I'm not belittling them -- they've already done that on their own by posting such flawed stuff in a public venue. I am merely functioning as an anthologist/tour guide/Greek chorus/satirist/critic/proofreader/grammarian/BS detector.

"Antique Victrola vinyl player - $1200 (Sulphur Springs )
This is an original "RCA"His Master Voice Tramaphone 78 Player, works great. The only thing it needs is needles which can be bought on Ebay very inexpensively. I also encourage everyone interested to check it out on Ebay and compare prices on Tramaphones. This is in excellent condition and what makes this one so special that most sit on top of counter top or table and this one I have for sale is mounted on an intriguing hand scrolled 4 ½ Dark Cherry Wood stand, that's included. It's a great conversational piece and would compliment any room.
Any questions please email me or feel free to call me at (903)951-8990
Thank you,
Theo"

I can remember when the first qualification for being an antiques dealer was that you actually had to know something about antiques. It really chaps my hide when they ask a premium price for something they know nothing about. It's a freekin' sheet music cabinet, for Pete's sake.

That is a sheet music cabinet by Herzog Art Furniture. Not phonograph related but would be a nice go-along. A bit too pricy though.
