Paint or not to Paint that is the question?
My wife and I are having a debate.............. paint or not to paint. I want to repaint and she thinks I should leave it. What do you think? Any input is welcome. The horn is quite rusty.

You don't show the inside of the horn - is that also under consideration for a repaint?
I admit this horn is awfully close to the edge for a restoration, but the gold anodizing and the blended red paint on the outside are interesting. I'd carefully clean the horn with non-pumice GoJo/Goop or similar hand cleaner, allow it to dry for a few days, and then carefully wax & buff. Wait 6 months and reconsider if the horn looks good enough to keep in its current condition.
I'm leaning toward keeping the original finish rather than repainting.

Thanks to all who have responded, The inside of the horn is not as bad as the outside, I think I will paint a rust inhibator on it and see what happens. Gordon.
