Large quantity of Diamond Disk records for sale *SOLD!!!****

Post by Jerry B. »

Yesterday I came into possession of a fairly large quantity of Edison Diamond Disk records. They are packed in 1979 San Francisco Chronicle newspaper. I have not looked any of the titles but a random check of condition and they look OK. With box #1, I counted the edges of the records and it contains 44 records. I also weighed box #1 and it weighed 41 lbs. By weighing each carton and figuring the ratios, I determined that I have the following:
Box #1 - 44 records - 41 lbs - $63
Box #2 - 43 records - 39 lbs - $62
Box #3 - 36 records - 34 lbs - $52
Box #4 - 33 records - 31 lbs _ $47
Box #5 - 50 records - 47 lbs _ $72
Box #6 - 52 records - 49 lbs _ $75

I would like to sell the records by the box. I really don't want to look at them and be tempted. By my best estimate, there are 257 records total. I will sell all of them all for $310. I am happy to deliver all or part of these records to Union. The only way I will ship them is for the buyer to pay packing and shipping. Of course I would be delighted if they were picked up locally. Thanks, Jerry Blais

How far is too far? I've tried to make these records attractive and at a low cost. How many chances does anyone have to buy Edison records that have not been gone through by another collector? They are packed in paper from the San Francisco Chronicle from the 1970's. I could really use some feedback. Are they too expensive? Do you have to buy too many? I anyone has a suggestion, I'd love to hear it. Thanks, Jerry

I think you are offering a good deal but I know shipping a box like that across the country would be too expensive for me. Probably what Lucius is thinking too.

I agree, shipping is a stumbling block. That is why I offered to deliver them to Union. Even if a collector is not going to Union, they probably know someone that is going. Of course I love collectors to visit Oregon. Come to Oregon, see some wonderful collections, and load up on good Diamond Disks. Jerry Blais

If I had a DD machine, I'd be all over it. Those discs don't happen to come with a C-19 do they?

Jerry,

I would probably take all of them if someone from the Tampa Bay (Florida) area was planning on attending the Union show?

If these were on offer in the UK, where good DD's are in short supply, they would be long gone by now!
