Some Victrola's and more at South Jersey Auction Oct 21

Post by NJ_Stephen »

All,

I'm new to this forum and don't have a Victrola yet.

I noticed there is an auction going on in South Jersey this weekend that has a few Victrola's.

Go http://www.southjerseyauction.com/hotitems.htm and go towards the bottom of the page and you'll see them.

Is there anything worth getting?

Thanks,
Stephen

The 4-3 (Consolette) is a nice sounding machine, they are all pretty common though. I wouldn't pay more than a couple hundred for anything there, personally.

After looking at the list of available phonographs, Brandon is right. Perhaps you can take a new needle and record to the auction and ask if you can play it. It may help determine the condition of the phonograph.

If I lived closer to the auction, it would interest me.

there's actually a private estate sale as well for an older collector in the same area with about 50 machines. maybe you read about that one too.
