Aloha, Everyone
I just discovered this forum and am very excited to be a part of this community. My addiction started about thirty years ago when my sister gave me an empty Victrola XI cabinet. Since then my collection included a Victor V, Victor III, two VV-XI's, VV-VI, VV-VIII and an Edison Home. I also had an unrestored Edison Gem with a Polyphone attachment that I quickly traded for the Victor V. No regrets.
Decided to retire (from Chicago via Maryland) and sold off most of the collection at the 2009 Wayne NJ Show. The only machines to make the cut are the Victor V and Edison (which the crank is still MIA in storage).
I am very impressed with the vast knowledge here and hope I can be a worthy contributor.
Cheers!
Terry

Welcome to the forum Terry. Your collection had some nice machines, congratulations. With the cold drizzle we have this morning in the Northeast I sure envy you being in Hawaii.

Even though I had a nice "Grammy Cave" in my old home, most of the playing was done on one of the VV-XI's because of its great tone. Looking for a quality reproduction (or original) wood horn for my Vic V.
Cold, rainy days are dearly missed. There is nothing like putting another log in the fireplace and cranking up a machine and listen to a Melba aria.
