I am saving up for a expert junior gramophone
The cost is £2,000 and it would be good for it to be paid in about 2 years preferably less
Has anyone got any tips how a 15 year old can earn £2000?
Thanks

My piece of advice: save money by price comparison! Last May a working Expert Junior sold at Bonhams for £900 (£1,125 with premium), including some records and needle tins: http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/19798/lot/16/kirtley2012 wrote:I am saving up for a expert junior gramophone

You can deliver newspapers and walk dogs to make some money.

Flip common, yard sale 78's on e-bay at vastly inflated prices.

That's not a junior!, it's a minor! Notice the spring motor, tonearm in the corner of the case and smaller horn, the horn has also been painted!, the junior has a electric motor, the tonearm base in the middle-right of the case and it has a 26" horn, larger than the minor
Th minor doesn't sound as good as a junior!, thanks to it's small horn and smaller size it can only really keep up with a decent hmv cabinet machine!
These machines do sometimes turn up cheap but not often!
The junior I'm buying has a PERFECT horn with no sagging!, the case is worse do wear but not bad at all!
Thanks for the money suggestions!, keep em coming please!

There's always window cleaning. Maybe you could get some regular customers in your neighborhood.

I am perfectly satisfied with the sound of a decent HMV, respectively Victor, cabinet machine and much prefer to invest the price difference in records.kirtley2012 wrote: Th minor doesn't sound as good as a junior!, thanks to it's small horn and smaller size it can only really keep up with a decent hmv cabinet machine!

It's just that since I'm buying a emg I want it to sound like a emg!, I.e as good as possible!
I will have a look for jobs locally that I may be able to work with part time!
Thanks!

I'm perfectly happy that people have their own tastes, perceptions and opinions but I'm firmly convinced that NOTHING can compare to the sound of a well-tuned later EMG or Expert (or a handful of unique machines built along similar lines). Stunning.
