I just advertised an Edison Standard on Craigslist and got the following email from a teacher located in Central Ohio looking for someone to donate an antique phonograph for use as a display in an old schoolhouse he is restoring. I checked this story out and it is legit. I sold my machine and asked him if I could post his story here in the event someone might have something they would be interested in donating. Here's his note and contact info. Thanks.

I am a teacher in Central Ohio at Gahanna Lincoln High School. We are restoring a One-room Schoolhouse back to how it was in the late 1800's. Students would then come to the one-room schoolhouse one class at a time for the day to see what it was to attend school back in history. An Edison Player like this would be fun and educational for the students to see and listen to. It would really help make the students experience much more authentic. The Columbus Dispatch did an article on the project just a couple of weeks ago. I am including a link to the article so you can read about what we are doing. I was wondering if you would consider donating the Edison Player to us. Since we are a school district all donations would be fully tax deductible . Please look at the links. This link is to an article about the project in the newspaper and channel 4 did a news story about the project.
