Victor 8-12
Here is one waiting to be turned into a bar and sink -- sad!

If I could find the missing parts I'd cast a bid out there and see what happens. :D

... not likely at that price (495 for a gutted refinished cabinet?). the description's definitely informative and compelling...

"The cabinet is outstanding in the beauty. It had once been stored in an old WV cabin and the original owner suspect gold inside for the center core is contained in a sound trunk without access and is weighted down in this area. Who knows?"

thankfully the seller's also experienced...

"About myself: I am a retired Material Science Engineer (B.S.) and during my earlier years I restored sculptures at the Hirshhorn Museum within the Smithsonian. I have a Bachelors of Science with Material Science and Industrial Arts. The example you see here is a job I did this year. My specialty is wood furniture and I can do jobs right outside your front or back porch. Garages do well for the winter."

yes it was a bit entertaining - especially refinishing on your front or back porch. I was thinking of offering $50.

Well, some of the missing parts include the veneer that's been stripped off the doors.

Sad ending for a really nice model 8-12, but a real interesting read none the less. I don't think this one can be brought back.

Years ago I came across a Borgia-II that someone had gutted...I had great plans of rebuilding it back to it's former glory...finally gave it away..just too much work...I believe that there's a special place in hell for those who knowingly destroy, alter, or tamper with a gramophone...especialy interior decorators who have Martha Stewartized so many once wonderful machines...

Only thing this would be good for is if someone wanted to do a painted finish, a la Vernis Martin.
