Here is a link to a thread on the German forum that I thought people here would also find interesting. It includes silent movie clips from 1928 about "How a Columbia Record is made". I did not want to simply "steal" the links and also did not want to loose the discussion. Google translate should help with the German language.

Interesting for sure , but every time I look at this movie I think the amplifier panel seems very strange indeed. I suspect they were being coy about showing the system that they really used, which was of course from Western Electric. I don't know what reason they would have for being shy: HMV was using exactly the same system and they do show the Western Electric cutting head.
