Amberola V

This looked too good to ignore, and I've wanted a V (only in oak) for a long time. Tell me what you think & whether I was temorarily insane about an hour ago - I was & remain perfectly sober, so I can't blame it on "Edison Beer Glasses"! haha

Looks like a very nice machine, price seems fair. I'd like to find a nice V someday as well. I love the look of the oak on this machine. Congrats!

This is certainly one of the nicest-looking V's I've seen. I think you'll be very happy with it!

If I had the space, I would love to own that. And I'd have paid that price in a heartbeat. An oak Amberola V in that condition is a great find. You will really enjoy it.

What seems odd to me, even though it was entirely in my favor: no other bidders! The seller had it listed at least twice, lately, and had 7 & 12 bids, but none reached his Reserve Price. I wonder why none of them bid this time. (And I will never know, of course!)

Now to determine which machines must leave, to make room & to replenish my finances! Amberola 50, B-X, Standard A & maybe a Q are on the list, so far. Nothing special, but part of my future focus on having a few great machines instead of dozens of common phonos.

(whew - someone just outbid me on a mahogany V, which I shouldn't have even considered, as I said I want oak! )

I notice the grill is metal. I have only seen mahogany examples and those had wood grilles.

Congrats as well. I just found one locally in mahogany. Not knowing about them, I discovered they had feet... :o . They are a heavy sucker.

I watched this machine all 3 times it was listed and could not understand why it wasn't quickly sold.
I seriously thought about bidding, but this week the minivan needed new tires, the microwave gave up the ghost, and I have thirty cents and an old button in my pocket.
The V is a beauty.
I hope you enjoy it for many years to come.
Congratulations!

One of my all-time favorite models. I have one like it, except with a wooden grille.

Not only are these among to coolest looking Edisons, but they play like champs as well!
