Victor VV-X-A grinding drive gear

Post by jsonova99 »

Just finished rebuilding the motor on this and it played fine at first, but after a few minutes the drive gear really started grinding and slowing the motor. I had this same problem on my VI and ended up just buying a replacement gear (old one was very worn). I was thinking of trying to reverse the drive gear, curious if anybody has done this and could provide guidance. I know they are soldered, but I'm guessing this is more difficult than soldering electrical components. I'm hoping that switching to unused side of teeth will fix the grinding.

Thanks,
Joe

After looking at it, I'm thinking these aren't soldered, but just pressed on. If anybody knows how to get the gear off of the arbor, let me know.

Thanks,
Joe
