Legit piano phone or Frankie?

Post by antique1973 »

This does not look like a Columbia. Any ideas? Maybe a well made frankie in a piano case?

It is what the ad says- a home built machine using case parts from a mid 19th C. melodeon organ - those legs are too small to be from a piano. The guy went to a lot of trouble but to me it looks clumsy. I suppose it could qualify as a piece of folk art.

Thanks Estott. It looks kind of cool but I could not justify the floor real estate for a frankenpiano.

How odd and gaudy. I love to see "creations". I have a portable in the basement that was made from the guts of an old Wurlitzer upright phonograph put into a homemade carry case. Hardly as creative as this.

From the inscription inside, it's certainly a home-built.... I wonder what the other three looked like?
