Hello,
Can you guys give me some idea what the current market value on an Edison Amberola 80 is. I have never come across one in all my years of collecting. A fellow just offered me some cylinders he wants to sell. He told me he has an Edison Amberola cylinder player that he wants to keep but is willing to part with a lot of the extra cylinders. I asked him what model he had thinking it was probably an Amberola 30 and was shocked to find out it was an Amberola 80. I see in my Edison book that they were made late around 1928/1929, so did they make very many of them?? I would like to make this fellow a fair offer on it to see if I could get him to change his mind.
Pete

Re: Question on Amberola 80
"Market value" is really whatever you and the seller are happy with. The only other way is to check auction sites. Even books like Mr. Paul's state is best the meaning of "market value" and the pit falls.
If it was a machine I wanted I would make an offer that "I" felt was fair.....
.
Hope you get it.
