Mission Style Record Cabinet

Post by gramophone78 »

Just pick up an oak "mission style" disc cabinet. Not sure if it's a "generic" cabinet or make for a certain machine. The top is 17"-17" square and 31 ½" high. Any thoughts??. Maybe for a Vic. V????.

Looks like a nice record cabinet but it is generic. Record cabinet that are made for a specific model generally have extra trim on the top to limit the top size to something specific. Even a fancy cabinet like this is really a generic cabinet intended for an expensive mahogany machine of any brand. Jerry

Well, I just picked up the record cabinet and gave it a light cleaning. For a generic cabinet....it looks great with a Vic 5. In my opinion.

Looks like a perfect fit- and it looks like Nipper approves too.

It makes for a great outfit. The only thing that would make it look better would be if it were in my basement! :D

I couldn't agree more, even though I don't have a basement.

A late Vic I or Vic II will look good on the cabinet. The same with a Columbia BN or BNW will look equally nice.

Harvey, since I have a late Vic.1 without a record cabinet, I thought I would try it. To me, it looks like the machine shrunk in the wash on this stand.....  . Maybe a bit of a mismatch...what do other think??.
