Were all Edison reproducers numbered? I know that many reproduction parts were not and I have seen both Model B's and C's of this type. However I have a couple of Automatic reproducers which are not numbered. They certainly have the patina of age, and I wonder if these are copies or that some early Automatics/Standard Speakers were not numbered. Any ideas?

Re: Edison Reproducer Numbering
I bought this Edison Home Suitcase outfit about a year ago from the grandson of the original owner in Massachusetts the machine is unnumbered, as well as the reproducer and recorder which are unnumbered. It came with both brass horns for recording and playing cylinders as well as the recorder in it's original box with original cloth and screwdriver. He even had a box of beautiful brown wax cylinders in a Columbia type box that played like they were new. Better yet was that every cylinder was listed on both labels of the box, on the outside and on the inside of the lid. I do have several Automatic reproducers besides this one, but I have never seen an unnumbered one besides the one in this machine.
