Looking for Rachmaninoff record

Post by 52089 »

I have a set of Rachmaninoff's second piano concerto that is missing disc 5. This would be Victor red seal 8157, sides 5 and 10, on the scroll label. I know it's a long shot, but if anyone has one of these for sale or trade, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi Rachmaninoff was king! If I've got the whole set it's yours! I know I have the other Concertos. And Rhapsody. Do you collect/Hoard Classical 78's? I've got to cull the heard. I'll be going through everything I own real soon so if the Second is there I'll find it. The first 78's I ever got my hands on was the Rubinstein of the second. Unbelievable recording as well!

I have both the Rach. and the Rubenstein performances of the Second, with the composer himself playing the solo part with Stokie and the Philada. But these are later RCA Victor issues, not scrolls. It's great to hear a composer playing his own stuff, esp. with a great orch like the Philadelphia.
