Here's a recent transfer I have made from a record I really like. The great Conchita Supervia sings, "Il Etait Un Roi De Thule" from Gounod's Opera, 'Faust'. Recorded on October 24th, 1931 for French Odeon, but never saw the light of day (one wonders why) until 1970s when Historic Masters pressed them on a vinyl.
Hope you'll enjoy this.
Played on an Audio-Technica AT-LP-120 USB turntable, with a custom-made 3.0mil Truncated Elliptical stylus. 2.7mil TE produces a much smoother sound, but it also catches the "cold wax chatter" at the end more prominently (possibly the reason why this wasn't issued) so I decided to transfer it with a larger stylus. I adjusted the equalization with my computer program to make it sound more decent. No filtering was applied - so that you can enjoy it in a "raw" form.
So, here it is - enjoy!

Thanks for posting this, Mark. You've done a nice job with the transfer.
Her sound, especially with such a pronounced vibrato, compelled me to look up Supervia's biography.
She had an interesting career, cut short following childbirth:

Conchita Supervia has always been one of my favourite singers, and in particular her recordings from "Carmen" have never been surpassed.
Here is a rare record issued posthumously in aid of The Queen Charlotte Maternity Hospital, where she died shortly after giving birth to a stillborn child.

Thank you for another wonderful upload, Tranforming Art! I've followed your YouTube channel.
I'm quite a fan of Supervia, and feel especially glad to hear one of her records by a good Historic Masters pressing.

Very, very nice, Mark. So you found a decent TT finally. Was this transferred at precisely 78.26?
I'll have to see if I have this one...I need to go through my dozens of HMs pressings.
How are things in Seoul?
