Victor O version

Post by Phono-Phan »

Did the later Victor O models come with a threaded crank and a stenciled back bracket? I saw one today like that and thought it was strange for a Victor O. I didn't get the serial number. I will check for the serial number the next time I see it.

Yes, I have a later Vic O with a taller case, thick male threaded crank, and a later ID plate that reads " V-O". Jerry

Well the mystery is solved. The Victor O actually is a slotted crank version. Someone had made a conversion piece to use a threaded crank on it. It is the earlier model and in real nice shape. The horn is near mint. I had to bring it home!!!!

It looks like a nice little machine. The horn is terrific. I bought a late Vic O that did not appear to have any of the maroon trim on the horn. I didn't find any, even the the creases of the horn... until I removed the elbow and it was maroon underneath. You can buy a nice little nickel plated slotted crank from Ron Sitko for a very reasonable price. Jerry Blais

Thanks!! This has to be one of the best original O horns I have ever seen or had the privilege to own. I have a Victor O already so this is definitely an upgrade. My other O will be available soon or be taken to Union for sale/trade.
