It seems to me that their is a real resurgence of using the phonograph to record famous people and for use in saving extinct languages. Take for instance Nick Pavone recording famous singers and Peter Jennings. I have used the cylinder phonograph in conjunction with Pablo Helguera for the Conservatory of Dying Languages in the Guggenheim Museum , this project alone numbers several hundred cylinders of music, stories, and voices from the Mexican jungles, South America, Puerto Rico, and even Chief Jones Marie Smith, the last person to speak Eyak. Plus the recordings that Jerry Fabris does for TEHP.
