VICTOR MS QUESTION

Post by anteks2551 »

Hello All,

I recently bought a Victor MS at an estate sale. The back mount and tone are are missing. Are these parts specific to the MS or will parts from other models work? Thanks, Randy

The back bracket and tone arm are the same for a Victor M, MS, Victor III, and a Victor IV. They show up on ebay occasionally, but are very expensive. I believe Ron Sitko sells reproduction ones.

You should also try George Vollema, he found an original one for me a year or so ago. They do turn up on ebay and have typically run $250-500. Just make sure you get one sized for the M, MS, III, or IV. It's a little counterintuitive, but the bracket for the V and VI are smaller because of the larger case size. Do not trust ebay sellers to always know which one they have, unless it's one of the regular phono guys.

Can you post any pictures? Is it possible that this was also once a front mount?

Thanks for the info. Now that I know exactly what I need I will start searching.

Any opinions on the repop parts?

No pictures at this time. It's a later MS, so no chance it was once a front mounted machine.

Oh, also going to need a crank (slotted.)

Thanks again,
Randy
